The Course
Golf at VCC features tree-lined, bent grass fairways and small, protected greens challenges golfers of all levels the opportunity to learn or improve their games. Members and guest enjoy casual and competitive rounds, as they choose.
The Course's Front Nine flows over a rolling terrain, and while the Back Nine is more level. The course provides strategic challenges with tree-lined, narrow, winding fairways, and small greens. There are just a enough bunkers, water, and out of bounds to keep players on their toes throughout the round.
Many members enjoy the very walkable layout. Carts are available if that is your preference.
The Course provides long and short-range practice areas as well as two practice putting greens.
Golf Course Amenities
The Driving Range, between Holes 10 and 18 provides the use of your full bag. It includes measured targets to work on accuracy and distances.
The Short Range, between the 7th green and the 8th tee, provides pitch and chip shots to an elevated green with several flags for targets. It covers shots from 120-yards to <20. It also has a bunker to practice sand shots.
The Practice Putting Green adjacent to the first tee is open for practice or a few putts before your round.
The Putting/Chipping Green, adjacent to the 18th Green and the Driving Range allows for chipping and putting practice, as well as some putting competitions.
The Course at VCC accommodates your preferred method of play.
Many members find the course walkable with a carry bag. Others use their own push or powered cart.
Carts are available for members and guests to rent per round.
A limited number of annual cart passes are available for members purchase.
The Course provides Golf Members the option to store their bags onsite. Clubs are cleaned after each use and safely stored in the bag room during the season.
Personal push carts and electronic bag carts can be stored, as room permits. There are charging facilities in the cart barn, if needed.
A locker is available for our Golf Members in the men’s and women’s locker rooms.
One of the benefits of being a member of Valpo Country Club is the quality of the instruction program. Our Head PGA instructor, Vince Lazar, is available to work with you to improve your game, generally or in a specific area. Group learning opportunities are provided throughout the year, too.
Appropriate golfing attire is required on the golf course and practice facilities.
Men
- Shirts must have a collar (crew neck golf shirts are acceptable)
- Traditional knit golf shirts must be tucked in.
- Slacks or Bermuda length shorts (no denim)
- Golf Shoes must have non-metal spikes
Women
- Women’s shorts, skorts or golf skirts are to be of an appropriate length, 16 inch out seam or no more than 4 inches above the knee.
- Golf slacks and sleeveless tops are permitted.
- Tank tops, tee shirts, halter tops, yoga pants, denim or other non-golf apparel may not be worn on the golf course.
We ask all golfers to complete their round in 4 hours or less.
It is the member’s responsibility to ensure their guests play is not holding up other golfers.
